Downtown Seattle

The heart of Seattle’s downtown beats to a drumbeat of fishmongers at Pike Place Market and the ferries coming in and out of the terminal.  Downtown’s easily walkable areas stretch from the waterfront, including attractions like the nationally-renowned Seattle Aquarium and Great Wheel with 360 degree views of Puget Sound and mountain ranges, to the theater district with Paramount Theater and the Washington State Convention Center. Over the past decade, there has been an unprecedented amount of development happening in the downtown core, with high-rise condos and office buildings welcoming Seattle newcomers with open arms. Even with all of the new buildings and renovations of some buildings – like the Smith Tower – to their former glory, Seattle still remains a premier destination for award-winning restaurants covering every cuisine and home to the longest-running public market in the United States: Pike Place Market. With so much to choose from in Seattle’s downtown, it’s so much more than watching fish fly and visiting the first-ever Starbucks Coffee Company store.
