Capitol Hill

Seattle’s Capitol Hill is one of the busiest and most dynamic neighborhoods in the area. Just up the hill from Seattle’s downtown core, Capitol Hill is a major center for the city’s LGBTQ+ and counterculture communities and home of Pride festivities each June. It boasts of two major parks – Cal Anderson and Volunteer Park – where pickup basketball games and picnics abound. Some of Seattle’s most historic and grand mansions surround Seattle University and the neighborhood’s easily walkable grid of coffee shops, retail and award-winning restaurants. Apartments and condos line the main section of this neighborhood, with more spacious houses lining the north end near Volunteer Park. Visit the rainbow crosswalks that highlight the city’s inclusive values, take a picture by the Jimmy Hendrix statue on Broadway, and pay tribute to martial arts icons Bruce and Brandon Lee, all within a few city blocks.
